Children & Parents
A plain-language privacy and safety notice for families using Gina Heartwing.
1. Parent-first account design
Where a feature involves an account, purchase, consent choice or external sign-in, we aim to make the parent or guardian the person responsible for that step. Child profiles can then use a limited nickname or first name and gameplay preferences without needing a separate email account where the product design allows it.
2. Minimum information
We aim to ask a child only for information needed for the experience. A nickname, companion choice, saved progress or creative work is generally more appropriate than collecting unnecessary contact or identity information.
3. Consent
In Cyprus, where consent is the legal basis for an information-society service offered directly to a child, a child aged 14 or over may consent; below 14, consent must be given or authorised by the holder of parental responsibility. We also take account of different age rules that may apply in another country.
4. Purchases and spending
Purchases should be completed through an adult-facing flow, parent gate or platform mechanism appropriate to the service. Sparks and other virtual rewards are not cash and cannot be cashed out or wagered.
5. Advertising
We do not intend to serve behavioural advertising to children or sell children’s personal data.
6. Creative content
Story Studio, Melody Maker and similar features are designed primarily for personal creative play. Parents should avoid encouraging children to enter private information, home addresses, phone numbers or other sensitive information into free-text fields.
7. Safety and moderation
Where sharing or community features are introduced in future, they will require a separate safety and moderation assessment before launch. The present Gina concept is designed around private or family use rather than open child-to-child communication.
8. Parent rights and controls
A parent or guardian may contact us to ask about a child profile, request deletion or correction where legally appropriate, or raise a privacy or safety concern.
9. Contact
Parent and child privacy questions may be sent to privacy@ginaheartwing.com.
